    Sir
Thank you for the very good simulation.
My question is : when I change the Adsorption value from 0.001 to 0.01 I had no change in the graph, even I follow the same steps. Could you please tell me why ? Thank you in advance. I notice that I use COMSOL 5.5

I hope to obtain some information in my questioned.
How to change the simulation from non-wetting to partial wetting specially when using hollow fiber membrane in simulation ?
    Thanks.

Hello, My research is on modeling of thermal remediation (mostly steam flushing or thermal conduction heating) for treatment of groundwater contaminated with LANPLs and DNAPLs. I wonder if Comsol can model multiphase systems. I only have access to student version which is not a full version so I should add the equations eventually. do you have a reference with all the equations that I can use and add to the student version for my 3D model?
Thanks so much for the tutorial.

Hi, editor of channel here. In my work I have only scratched the surface of what Comsol Multiphysics is capable of, but a strength with the program is that you can combine different kinds of physics. I remember even seeing a model of pyroclastic flows and we once had a PhD-student at our department modeling transport in swelling systems (medicine pills that you swallow and swell in your gut. If the system swells the whole geometry changes which makes modelling a really tough task).
As I understand it, however, Comsol Multiphysics is strongest in the fields where there is a tough commercial pressure. Some chemical related parts have been lagging a bit behind as other parts develop (That's my experience all the time since the program was called Femlab). My knowledge of Comsol Multiphysics is limited though, so I partly base my impression on what other experts tell me about Comsol Multiphysics.
Per W, the creator of this video, did have a research project on remediation of soils in cold climates, we do have minor student projects in our courses on the spreading of contaminants in soils, and we have had master thesis students looking into soil remediation.
However, as I understand it no-one at our department has been into hard-core modeling LANPLs and DNAPLs

@@dr.mohanadm-ridha1130 Please only send your questions once. We already answered your question under another video:
It would not surprise me if it is possible as you can combine different physics models in Comsol. At our department, however, we co-develop other tools for simulating, optimising and controlling chromatographic systems e.g. for the production of biopharmaceuticals. At the core is a program than can run/control other software (including Comsol and Aspen) as well as running our own code.
For more information regarding similar research at the department see e.g.

i didn't understand the reaction of adsorption , the equation of adsorption rate is :r=k(q^2) , where r is the initial adsorption rate (mg/g min), but the unit in comsol is mol/(m^3).s, how did y calculate r?????? please unswer me ?? i need your help

Can you help me? I would like to model the transport of solute in a Nanofitration membrane.

    • @PLE_LU
      @PLE_LU  7 лет назад +1

Hi, editor of the channel here: That's a really intricate problem (if you want to model it in detail) since the structure of the membrane and its support structure changes with depth and a really important part of the transport problem is on the feed/retentate side (concentration-polarization…what is the concentration _at_ the membrane _really_?) and that's not even beginning to discuss the problem of pore size distribution and what the "size" of a (charged?/uncharged?) solute is.
We unfortunately have limited resources and thus feel we need to focus mainly on things that benefits the students in our courses, so sorry, no, we can't help you, but if you have a proposal for research collaboration, feel free to contact our experts in the field of membrane filtration./Mattias

I am working on a project of carburization.I am trying to simulate in the comsol software. The process is such that the methane and hydrogen gas is passed to the sample in a temperature of 720 k so that methane breaks to form carbon which is diffused.the diffusion follows ficks law and I do have the values for inital and surface concentration.can you please help me to solve this.also it is done in the presence of plasma. Also the sample is placed in furnace

    • @PLE_LU

Hi, editor of the channel here: We don't have resources to put much emphasis on answering external questions, but to be able to model solute transport in groundwater (which is what this screencast is about) I would say you likely need to read up on things like mass balances, adsorption, chemical equilibrium, solubility, flow in porous media (Darcy's law etc.). Note: if the solubility is low you probably want to do a search on LNAPL and DNAPL

i am a student and i am working on modeling of convective drying of fruit which is considered as a porous media.
i am trying to do a multiphysic problem. The model is based on the heat and mass transfer equations and the mechanical equilibrium equation under the assumptions of plane deformation, viscoelasticity and isotropic hydric shrinkage. however, i find many problems in simulating this problem since i am not so good at using comsol.
would you please give us a tutorial on this subject ?

We do make some of our educational videos public so that other people than our students might hopefully benefit, but for help with projects or assignments we refer you to your local teacher/educational institution.
